DD Lab er etableret i 2012 af Martin Brynskov og Rasmus Lunding. på baggrund af bevillinger fra Institut for Kommunikation og Kultur (IKK), Århus Universitet. 

Rasmus og Nikolaj Mikkelsen er de to fastansatte i lab'et, De forestår drift, opdatering og udvikling af teknologiflade samt koordinering til uddannelser og forskningsprojekter på Digital Design og Informationsvidenskab på IKK. DD Lab har desuden 3 studentermedarbejdere tilknyttet. De hjælper med at bemande lab'et samt formidle teknisk introduktion til lab'ets teknologier.

Hovedformålet med DD Lab er at understøtte projekter, aktiviteter og undervisning indenfor fysisk interaktion.
DD Lab er primært til rådighed for studerende på de nævnte uddannelser. Andre med til knytning til Aarhus Universitet kan få adgang til lab'et efter nærmere aftale. Skriv til  Rasmus rasl@cc.au.dk for at høre mere om vilkår for brug af lab'et.

Det fysiske lab er udstyret til at understøtte følgende kerneområder.

• Rapid Prototyping: CNC maskiner, Lasercutter, 3D printere, Vinylskærer, Plotter med mere.
• Digital Fysisk Interaktion: Et udvalg af stimuli/respons sensorer og aktuatorer, forskellige microcontroller-boards, komponenter etc.
• Mediebaseret dokumentation og Udtryksformer: AV-udstyr (herunder VR, Kameraer, Audio etc.)
• Digitale Eksplorative Værktøjer: AI-platforme, Wireframing tools etc.

DD Lab was established in 2012 by Martin Brynskov and Rasmus Lunding, based on funding from the Department of Communication and Culture (IKK) at Aarhus University.
Rasmus and Nikolaj Mikkelsen are the two full-time staff members in the lab. They are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the lab as well as development of the technology platform. They also handle coordination with the educational programs and research projects at Digital Design and Information Science, IKK.
DD Lab also has three student assistants who man the lab and provide technical introductions to the lab’s technologies.

The main purpose of DD Lab is to support projects, activities, and teaching within physical interaction.
DD Lab is primarily available to students in the aforementioned programs. Others affiliated with Aarhus University may gain access to the lab by further arrangement. Please contact Rasmus rasl@cc.au.dk to learn more about the terms of use.

The physical lab is equipped to support the following core areas:

• Rapid Prototyping: CNC machines, laser cutter, 3D printers, vinyl cutter, plotter, and more.
• Digital Physical Interaction: A selection of stimulus/response sensors and actuators, various microcontroller boards, components, etc.
• Media-Based Documentation and Forms of Expression: AV equipment (including VR, cameras, audio, etc.).
• Digital Exploratory Tools: AI platforms, wireframing tools, and more.
